Purpose of this E-folio

WELCOME!

In this e-folio, we meant to share a little bit of our experience as practitioners. We expect to share some knowledge that we have adquired through this course.

We, also, want to share some of the things we put into practice with our junio high school students. We wanted the best for them, and we wanted them to learn in the best way possible the languague. Knowing that we had made our best effort, we are excited to work with this new knowledge, and to learn from our new students.

Introduction

This blog has been created to show the amazing experience of teaching English at Junior High School level. Being a teacher is not easy, mainly when we talk about teaching a group of teenagers who are eager to learn by getting fun. Why is not easy? Well just think that making teens remain in silence is a big challenge. This e-folio contains everything we have done during this long semester. Here you will find a variety of information such as: resources, lesson plans, classroom activities, materials, methods and teaching techniques, including our own teaching practice at Junior High School level.

Teaching experience:

When teaching junior high students, I could realize that teens are very dinamic. Also, they like to learn by doing the things after the teacher explain the topic. I, as student teacher, can say that the best way for me to clarify doubts is when the student ask for it, telling to them that everybody make mistakes and encouragin them to participate.

Teens do not like to participate because they are afraid of making mistakes, but when you make the others students respect the one who is talking and giving her/his opinion, you are giving them the space to talk and clarify doubts. As you are doing this, students will be able to learn more.

My profile

My name is Ernesto Azucar and I am twenty two years old. I was born in San salvador but I have lived my whole life here in Santa Ana. I am a very friendly guy but at the same time I tend to be very shy. I consider that everything has a purpose in this life, it depends on the way we percieve reality. In order to succeed in life every human being has to set their goals and work harde in order to achieve them. I like the major that I am studying because I like languages and I enjoy speaking in english and in a near future I would like to learn at least two more languages.

My Teaching Practice Experience

This year I had the chance to teach 8th grade students and let me tel you that it wasn´t easy at all. At the beginning my students were very shy and the didn´t like to participate and I was worried about it, then, I changed my methology and the results came very fast. since the very beginning I knew that this teaching practice was going to be a little bit harder than the previous one ( kinder) and so was it but I did my best and I always tried to make my students feel that english is a necessary language and it opens a lot of oportunities in life and with the pass of the days they started to have a different attitude towards the subject, at the sime time they did the things easier for mi because the were cooperating with me ( by speaking, writing, etc) and I have to be honest and say that I really enjoyed this teaching practice because I taught to ESL students and I learn many things from them as well because I consider that a relationship student- Teacher is reciprocal and both parts can learn something new every day and that was my case. Now I hope to have a good experience in my high school teaching practice next semester.

My Profile

Hello, my name is Wilber Eduardo Chavez Vides. I am twenty one years old; I was born in april 22, 1994. I live in Ahuachapan since I was born. I like to practice sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis, handball, and so on. Also, I love to listen to music, especially rock music. One thing that I enjoy so much is to share my knowledge with others. I do not have to much experience as a teacher, but the few times I have had the opportunity to teach, I have enjoyed it. Being a teacher is one of my goals in life; it is maybe crazy, but I want to be a teacher. If someday I have the opportunity to teach, I will teach with joy.

To teach is the center of to learn.

My Experience As Teacher

Being a teacher is not easy because a teacher must know how to control a group of students. It does not matter if there are five or forty students in a classroom, a teacher has to keep the control of the. class. For me, it was kind of hard to take the role of a teacher because my students were almost always hyperactive, and at the beginning I did not know how to control them. My students were polite, but sometimes they behaved as children. I remember once when two girls were talking and talking, and I told them, please be quite. I said the same thing many times and the girls continued talking. So, I got angry because the girls were laughing of me. I had to take them with the principal, It was a bad situation, and I did not know what to do. Later on, I talked to all my students about respect, and they understood. fortunately they started to behave better and we became friends.

This experience of being a teacher was awesome, I had some complications, but I learnt from them. I knew that taking the role of a teacher was not easy, but I took the challenge. My students learnt from me, as well as I learnt from them. Now I definitely know that I want to be a teacher, and I will fight for my dream.

Some of my students and I.
this was the last class I taught. They were my students, and I was so glad to be their teacher. I am never going to forget them.
There, I am with Nathaly. She was one of the best students I had in the classroom. Nathaly always was polite with me and their classmates.

Every child should have a caring adult in their lives. And that's not always a biological parent or family member. It may be a friend or neighbor. Often times it is a teacher.

Lesson Plan

In this class I taught to my students the most important places of the city. The class was totally awesome because the students understood everything. We also had fun with some activities.
